Senior Happenings
The Salisbury Seniors offer a wide variety of programs and activities for area folks at the Town Grove Recreational Building, Monday through Friday. The site, overlooking beautiful Lake Wononscopomuc, is home to the Lakeville Nutrition Program lunches, held Monday through Thursday at noon. Participants enjoy a hot, nutritious meal that includes milk, bread and coffee or tea. Suggested donation is just $2.00. Reservations must be made at least one day ahead by calling the lunch site, 435-5197, 10:30am-1:00pm.
EXERCISE
There is a fun group of seniors meeting for Exercise classes every Tuesday and Thursday morning at the Lakeville Town Grove Recreational Building from 10:00am to 11:00am.
The easy and light exercises, led by Edie Bell, are geared for those with arthritis and most are done while sitting in a chair. The exercises include stretches using a Theraband, a thin, rubber band which provides resistance. The class is beneficial both physically and socially. After the class, many remain for coffee and conversation. Lunch is also available at noon for those who make a reservation a day ahead.
There is no charge and all area residents are encouraged to attend for fitness, fun and fellowship. For more information call Edie Bell at 435-2243 or Mike Beck at 435-5191.
