Can you spare 2 hours a month? The Sharon Lions Club meet once per month, on the third Wednesday at Millerton's Simmons Way Village Inn. Meetings start at 7pm and includes dinner and usually a guest speaker. Meetings run about 2 hours. The Sharon Lions serves a number of organizations at events throughout the year. These include traffic control for Sharon Classic Road Race, providing food for the Sharon little league summer picnic, and hosting the Boys Scouts annual honors event. Additionally, The Sharon Lions Club hold fund raisers, the biggest of which is our annual golf tournament in July which raises thousands of dollars for scholarships! We also hold dinners and sell raffle tickets and are currently planning exciting new events.
Membership dues are $25.00 a month which covers the cost of the dinner meeting and Lions district and International dues. District and international dues money aids Lions causes, chief among them is combating blindness worldwide.Lions have also aided disasters here at home including Hurricane Katrina and the 9-11 attacks.
The Sharon Lions Club members are men and women who are from all walks of life; bankers, broadcasters, attorneys, plumbers, teachers, retirees, inventors, small business owners, secretaries and more!
