The Housatonic Child Care Center (HCCC) is a not-for-profit, full-time facility, providing play based learning and school preparation for children ages 12 weeks to 5 years from Salisbury and surrounding towns. The center provides a comfortable atmosphere for children to learn and grow. It is actively involved in the community, bringing the Town and the children together periodically, and involving community members in the center, either on the Board of Directors or as center volunteers.

The entire staff is dedicated to helping children reach their full potential. They attend classes and educational workshops through the year to keep abreast of new developments in childcare. Parent-Teacher conferences are offered annually to ensure regular communication between parents and the center.

Licensed for 55 children, Housatonic Child Care Center is housed in the red barn on Salmon Kill Road in Salisbury. The school year runs from September through June and a separate summer program is geared towards summer-time activities and field trips that the young children can enjoy in the warm weather. There are two programs at the center, defined by age group and individual development: the Infant/Toddler Program (3mos.-3yrs.) and the Preschool Program (3-5 years).

Nationally, childcare costs are very high. Housatonic Child Care Center remains committed to providing much needed scholarship assistance to working parents. Funding comes from several sources including the town, the Madeline B. Wildes Fund through Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation and internal financial aid programs.  For more information visit our web site
