Effective July 1, 2016,  the Planning & Zoning (Land Use) Office and the 
Building Office will be open Monday through Friday from 8 am until 12 
noon.  Other times by appointment.  The Building Inspector will have 
office hours Monday through Friday from 8-9AM and and tries to be in the 
office between 3-4 PM.

 

      The Building Department's main function is to uphold the State of Connecticut Building Code, hereafter called The Code. The Code applies to all phases of new construction as well as structural, electrical, plumbing or mechanical changes within an existing structure. All projects are required to be inspected at various stages and upon final completion and adherence to The Code, a final Certificate of Occupancy or Certificate of Use may be issued. Swimming pools and other unusual structures are included in the Code and all have their own criteria to which we must adhere.

     The Building Department is available to assist the public with concerns of safety (unsafe structures etc.) that are within the scope of the code. Any questions please call the building department.
