Recycling

RECYCLING ORDINANCE No. 71
 
Section 1:  “Mandated Recyclables”: Recyclables which have been designated by the DEP and any additional items which have been designated by the Board that are mandated to be recycled within the municipality. 

Section 3:  “Separation”: On or after January 1, 1991 (1) each person who generates solid waste from residential, business or other property within the municipality shall separate from other solid waste those items designated as mandatory recyclables and (2) every other person who generates solid waste shall make provision for the separation from other solid waste of those items designated as mandatory recyclables.
 
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO

Recycle this way: 
 
CARDBOARD 
 
YES to corrugated, brown paper bags, brown feed bags 
NO to waxed or Asian cardboard, plastic bags, gift wrap, paperboard, cans, bottles, trash, Styrofoam, shrink wrap, metals, or wood 
 
MIXED PAPER

YES to magazines, non-metallic paper, newspapers (with inserts, real estate books, telephone books, white or colored paper, junk mail, office paper, fax and photocopy paper, envelopes, computer printouts, school paper, math and composition paper, construction paper, oak tag, cereal boxes, hard cover books (covers removed), paperbacks, soft cover books, workbooks, gift boxes 
NO to waxed paper, cardboard, carbon papers, gift wrap, hard book covers, plastic bags, tyvek envelopes, blueprints, milk cartons, food contaminated products.
